This is Sweet Surrender’s performance of With or Without You from the semi-finals round of the Minnesota State Fair Amateur Talent Contest.  This round took place at the Leinie Lodge Bandshell on Saturday, September 3 at 6 p.m.  We ended up winning our division that night and getting to sing at the finals the next night.  We didn’t place, but were real happy with the performance and blessed by God to have the opportunity!

A long time ago, Barenaked Ladies had a remix contest involving some tracks off their album titled Barenaked Ladies are Me.  They were going to take the best remixes and release it as an LP (for charity I believe). It was cool because as people submitted their remixes to the Web site for consideration, you could listen to them and even vote for your favorites.

I was inspired, so I used GarageBand to make my remix of the tune called Easy, and I uploaded it for consideration.  Long story short, I tried to submit it several times a month for probably a year, but for whatever reason, it would never get published for others to see!  I watched other new entries appear almost daily, but never mine!

I never did figure out why they wouldn’t publish my mix, but last time I checked, they pulled the plug on the whole project and the Web site just takes you to BNL’s general Web site.

So until BNL comes back to apologize and use my Easy remix on their CD, here it is for your listening pleasure.

What better way to break in the Garage Band app on our iPad than to pay tribute to the best song of the century.  I call this song…Thursday.  And that comes after Friday.

My pal Teresa and I sang Remember Me (by Mark Schultz) for Atti’s baptism a few weeks ago.  Freaking love that song.  What was extra awesome is we saw Mark in concert the night before, and he closed with that tune.

Here’s a b-day present I made for my pal Brian.  He’s a Tenacious D fan, so I sang him a little bit of the Kyle Quit the Band song, but substituted his name for Kyle’s.  I know…totally original, right?
