I’m a big Casting Crowns fan, and when I think about how I want to live my life, I’m reminded of some of the lyrics in one of the band’s popular songs, Lifesong:
I want to sign your name / to the end of this day / knowing that my heart was true / Let my lifesong sing to You
As we kick off 2011, I’m pleased to say that over the past year, I think the person I want to be and the person I actually am took a decent baby step towards being one in the same. Maybe it had to do with adopting our new son, Atticus, or trying to make a better effort to read more scripture and actually stretch my faith a tiny bit.
Regardless, the changes in my life have been interesting, and I wanted to share some things I’ve learned that might be helpful to others. So I’m going to kick off a writing series (using the lifesong tag).
Wow, I realized this post falls into one of my blog pet peeves: saying you’re going to do something instead of just doing it (*forehead slap*). Sorry about that, I’ll try not to let it happen again.
Sigh No More performed by Jars of Clay and Audrey Assad. This is one of those tunes I just can’t stop listening to. I hope our band can work it up sometime.
The worship band I play with, Discovery, has gotten a facelift - Tumblr style! Check it out!
On that note, I’ve been playing with Soundcloud, and I absolutely love how they give you the ability to create set lists, as well as the embeddable code to go along with them. So I’m working on a page (hidden for now from the main site) that lets listeners enjoy all our music, “radio style,” if they so choose. Check that page out here.
I want to join this church’s band. SO. BAD.
